A Plus Early Intervention

At A Plus Early Intervention we recognize that the early years are critical to the success of any child, but are especially vital for a child who has a developmental delay or disability. We are committed to providing individualized and developmentally appropriate education and therapeutic services that are based upon a child’s strengths and needs.

We promote a family centered and holistic approach in which the families’ perspectives, values and culture are respected and one in which the parents and caregivers play an integral part in their child’s overall education.

Steps To Early Intervention

1. REFERRAL: Many people can refer a child for EI including doctors, educators, family members and friends. Call the county where the child lives: NYC 311, Nassau 516-227-8661, Suffolk 631- 853-3100. Or call NYS Growing Up Healthy Hotline 1-800-522-5006

2. ELIGIBILITY: Eligibility for the EIP can be determined only by NYS approved evaluators under contract with the municipality. If a child is found eligible for the EIP, all needed EI services are identified in collaboration with the parent/guardian and must be authorized by the municipality.

3. SERVICES BEGIN: The municipality will arrange for service Providers to deliver services authorized by the municipality.
